Objective

The Laboratory of Materials for Electrotechnics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki supports research and education in Materials Engineering, for electrotechnics in general and especially in:
- development and characterization of materials,
- applications of materilas for electrotechnics,
- elaboration of measurement techniques, and
- theoretical study of materials' behaviour

History

It started in 1983, as an autonomous unit of the Telecommunications Laboratory.
In 1994 it was brought under the Division of Electrical Energy as independent laboratory.
In 2001 it was established as a Laboratory of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.(Presidential Decree 80/2001, Gazette Α66/6-4-2001)
